8' & 10' Tailwater Aluminum Prams
If your mind is set on rough & ready aluminum construction either our 1 person 8' Tailwater or our 2 person 10' Tailwater fits any class I or II river condition. Built with the finest materials by experienced craftsmen these tough, lightweight, welded aircraft aluminum prams feature an extruded chine with an .090" bottom and .080" side aluminum thickness for strength. The unique design and construction of our Tailwater prams allows for easy stacking in the back of a pick-up the the 8' Tailwater will fit on most car top racks. Our drift boat designed Tailwater prams feature flat bottoms and generous beams to provide a stable ride, even in the most challenging conditions. Their slight rocker bottom is designed to make the Tailwater prams extremely nimble and quick to an oar. The interior boasts a fully adjustable rowers bench complete with a comfortable webbed rowing seat. Also included are tackle trays down both interior sides, gray fleck non-skid Zolotone interior and rubber gunwale guards. Oarlocks sockets are located for ease of rowing in both river as well as stillwater situations from either seat. Our Tailwater aluminum prams are truly prams for all seasons.
The 8' Tailwater is a great drifter for one person and the 10' Tailwater will fit two comfortably, three in a pinch. None of the Tailwater prams have US Coast guard flotation. The reason? The same as any drift boat. These prams were specifically designed for river usage. In the unlikely event of a water landing (capsizing) the pram would sink to the bottom. That way it is not a hazard when you (in your life jacket of course, right?) are floating down the river. The hydraulic force of water is unimaginable to most people. You could say that if you were hugging a log jam and a 10' boat, loaded with water was coming at you.....well let's just say it would be like a bug on a windshield. That's why there isn't any flotation.
