Our Spare Rod Holder option allows you to carry an
additional rigged rod (or rods if we mount them on both sides) out of the way hugging the
inside of the pram with the reel resting on the stern flotation compartment. Depending on
the size of the rod you use (normally 8'-9') yes it will stick out of the bow of your
pram. This has never been a problem for us or any owners we have checked with as you are
usually away from obstacles that would damage the tip and coming into the dock or shore
you are aware of the tip being out there. Our Spare Rod Holders
are another option thought up by Kyle Looney who works at Kaufmann's Streamborn and one of
our happy pram owners. Our Spare Rod Holder option is getting to
be a very popular option on our prams as well. These are a combination of nylon webbing,
hook and loop fastener material, two part epoxy and a Dremel tool. No we won't tell you
the secret of how to attach them but I will tell you that just "sticking them
on" won't work.
