By far our best sellers are fiberglass prams. This is the case for many reasons. Some specific, some common sense, some practical. Fiberglass as a material is stronger by weight, quieter (a very important aspect to us fly fishers), warmer and easier to repair than aluminum. A fiberglass to wood comparison is actually much closer. The main (and very valid) difference is that no matter what the wood boat builders tell you there is a great deal of maintenance to a wood boat. That's why our fiberglass prams out sell wood at a rate of over 50/1. We have designed each of our fiberglass prams with a purpose in mind. The differences are as follows;
Stillwater Classic Series
First we have the Stillwater
Classic "the finest one person stillwater fly
fishing platform available today" according to Brian Chan, the Senior Fisheries
Biologist for the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Designed for stillwaters and
estuaries it's stability is incredible.
10' Hopper II
The big boat, still able to fit into our
goals of being light enough to car-top or fit into a standard bed pick-up, the 10' Hopper II is the two person version
of the 8' Hopper II. Our 10' Hopper II outperforms every other
pram in it's class due to the unique hull design allowing it to draw very little water. On
stillwaters, our 10' Hopper II again
is a great performer. With a 43 pound thrust electric motor the 10' Hopper II
will top out at 10.3 mph with exceptional battery life due again to the well designed
hull.
8' Hopper II
We designed the Hopper
II Series to extend the capabilities of the Stillwater
Classic. With the capabilities easily handling Class I & II rivers
as well as lakes, estuaries and stillwaters the one person 8'
Hopper II I is a great performer. Built from a heavier fiberglass cloth
and having higher sides and a wider bottom you can guess that the 8' Hopper II I will be a bit heavier than the Stillwater Classic.
