8' Tailwater
The reasons for wanting to fish or drift alone are as varied as they are people who love to fish alone. Myself, I like my fishing buddies, I love my wife and daughter but sometimes the serenity and self satisfaction as well as the ability to go where you want when you want, fish an inviting stretch of pocket water or shoal area is easier and less hassle by yourself. Even if you fish with someone else (who has their own pram) separately you can cover twice as much real estate. The 8' Tailwater is the perfect one person drifter. Light enough to manage yourself, tough enough to drag over rocks and barnacles (if you fish salt water estuaries). With no flotation due to an exclusion because of river hazard the entire bottom is usable space and increased space for your dog, decoys, fly boxes you get the idea.
Note the moderate rocker and extreme bow and stern plate angles. This give the 8' Tailwater the ability to slide across the top of the water instead of sitting so far down in the water which makes a pram more difficult to keep moving in a straight line. With the standard web oarsman's seat with a full length storage tray your comfort and the ability to keep your stuff dry is first and foremost. With a patented Uni-Rail gunwale system coupled with the lack of additional the interior is very fly line friendly. With an optional paint job you can even match any of our aluminum prams to the color of your truck, house, dog, you name it.
Here is a custom built 8' Tailwater utilizing our exclusive tractor seat concept which is used in our entire line of Hopper II's as well as our Stillwater Classic Fly Fishing Edition. Our custom designed tractor seat is set atop a zinc plated swivel with a full length tackle tray underneath the seat giving you the ability to swivel to see behind you or to easily access your boat bag. The padded tractor seat also keeps your hind end warm on those cold early morning or late evening outings. The pram pictured is equipped with our optional removable Carpet Kit which is an absolute must if you plan to fly fish out of any aluminum pram. Bottom line? Our 8' Tailwater is a great pram for the individual fly fisher or hunter (and dog). And it easily fits in the back of a standard bed pick-up or even on most car tops.
